Iron Prices in Egypt Stabilize After Sharp Monthly Decline
Iron prices in Egypt remained stable during today’s trading, following a sharp decline recorded over the past month, bringing relative calm back to the construction materials market.
The stability in iron prices comes after a drop of nearly EGP 4,000 per ton in recent weeks, which was reflected in factory and market selling levels, with slight variations depending on producers and distribution areas.
Factory prices for iron ranged between EGP 35,000 and EGP 37,000 per ton, reaching consumers with an additional cost of around EGP 1,000 per ton depending on location and logistics.
Industry officials said the local market is witnessing noticeable stability in iron prices after the recent declines, helping distributors maintain balanced supply and demand conditions.
Prices varied among manufacturers, with some brands trading below the market average while others held slightly higher levels, as market participants closely monitor any new price movements.
Iron prices play a key role in Egypt’s construction and real estate activity, making their stability an important factor in shaping building and infrastructure projects in the coming period.
