Gold Prices Continue to Rise in Egypt as 24K Hits Record Level

Gold prices in Egypt continued their upward trend during trading, with average gains of about 10 pounds across different karats, supported by strong momentum in both local and global markets.

The price of 24-karat gold, the purest form, reached 7,382 EGP per gram, while 21-karat gold, the most traded in Egypt, climbed to around 6,460 EGP.

The price of 18-karat gold rose to 5,537 EGP per gram, while the gold pound was valued at approximately 51,680 EGP, with variations depending on dealer charges.

These gains come amid expectations that global gold prices will continue to rise throughout 2026, driven by geopolitical tensions, trade conflicts, and ongoing interest rate cuts worldwide.

Gold markets were further supported by the US Federal Reserve’s decision to cut interest rates to 4%, boosting demand for gold prices as a safe-haven asset.
