Egypt Tourism Growth Drives Revenues to Record High in 2025
Egypt tourism growth was recorded in 2025 as visitor numbers reached about 18.8 million, approaching the 19 million mark, the highest level in the sector’s history.
Official figures show that Egypt tourism growth helped push tourism revenues beyond $18 billion for the first time, supported by near-full hotel occupancy during the New Year holiday season.
Tourism Minister Sherif Fathy said Russia ranked first among source markets, followed by Germany, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia and Italy.
Hotel expansion and investment momentum
He added that around 15,000 new hotel rooms were opened during the year, with plans to add nearly 25,000 more rooms next year as part of ongoing Egypt tourism growth.
Industry experts attribute the momentum to the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, major infrastructure upgrades and government incentives supporting tourism investment.
These developments underline sustained Egypt tourism growth and expectations of a larger surge in visitor numbers ahead.
